In-class TESOL course

This in-class 120-hour TESOL course is administered using the 5 following core components:
  • Teaching Techniques (Week 1)
  • Foreign Language Experience (Week 1)
  • Language Awareness (Week 1-4)
  • Teaching Practice (Week 2-4)
  • ​Materials Compilation Projects (Week 4)

Combined TESOL course

This Combined TESOL course is unique as it combines two elements of study: online theory and observed teaching practice. ​The course offers the opportunity to ​study the ​teaching theories online at your own pace from the comfort of your own home or office. Then you will have the opportunity to put theory into practice through the observed teaching practice with actual Vietnamese students at different high schools, colleges or universities in Vietnam. ​

Online TESOL course
​(with or without live lessons)

This online TESOL course consists of fifteen units with or without live lessons, carefully chosen and organized to ensure a gradual buildup of your knowledge. The final component of the theory is a short essay-writing task of between 500 and 1,000 words OR a formal lesson plan with its videoed lesson performance (15-20 minutes).

Introduction
Unit 1: Principles, Teachers and Learners
Unit 2: Methodologies, Equipment and Teaching Aids
Unit 3: Warmers
Unit 4: Context and Contextualization
Unit 5: Teaching Speaking
Unit 6: Teaching Vocabulary
Unit 7: Teaching Grammar
Unit 8: Teaching Listening
Unit 9: Teaching Reading
Unit 10: Teaching Writing
Unit 11: Communicative Activities
Unit 12: Basic Grammar: Parts of Speech, Sentences and Tenses
Unit 13: Basic Phonology: Intonation, Stress, Phonemics and Articulation
Unit 14: Classroom Management
Unit 15: Lesson Planning
A Short Essay (500-1000 words)
OR
A Formal Lesson Plan with its videoed lesson performance (15-20 minutes)

How does the course work?

Our online course is designed to be as user-friendly as possible. To move comfortably through this course, simply follow these straightforward steps:
  1. Work through the materials for each unit until you feel you have fully absorbed all the information provided.
  2. You can also watch  videos  relating to that unit  
  3. Once you are ready you can then check your understanding of the subjects covered by completing the end-of-unit task sheet that accompanies the unit.
  4. After completing the task sheet you will take a one-time multiple choice test for the unit, know the result and then continue with the next unit.
  5. When you have passed all the 15 unit tests, you can move on to the final stage: writing a short essay (500-1000 words) with one of the given topics or designing a formal lesson plan with its videoed lesson performance. 

       

Assessment Criteria

In order to pass this online course, the average score on the 15 unit tests must be 75% or better and the score on each unit test is not below 60%. In addition, you need to pass a final writing task: a short essay of between 500 and 1,000 words or finish a formal lesson plan with its videoed teaching practice, which meets the requirements.
